Edition 15 - 29 January 2010

The stampede has begun! The completed cows are starting to come back into our top secret cow corral (thanks Cowara Transport!) and they are having a final polish and preen in preparation for their photo shoots next week with Olivier Marill, our photographer. Here at the CowParade Margaret River offices we are so excited to see all our artists' hard work coming to fruition, and the results are spectacular. And don't you worry - in less than a month all the cows will be on display for everyone to see!

In order to help set the moooo-d from now on we will be showcasing some of our artists and the inspiration behind their bovine beauties in each edition to motivate you to get out and see the herd! To ensure that you have plenty of time to see all the cows make sure you book in to stay at one of our Official Hotel Partners, Seashells Yallingup and Margarets Beach Resort - they've got some great CowParade Margaret River special offers for you.

Enjoy the Moo News!

Artists

Margaret River artist Jenny Sanderson had her work cut out for her when she took on a cow for the Margaret River Hotel - it was "...a unique challenge in fiberglass medium & bubbling beer! As a local artist it excites me to have fun with art with the opportunity of reaching a global audience 'on the back of a cow'!"

"Cow-n-tree Moosic must be spoken with a country drawl! Its moo-d is mellow and melodious, a moo-ving musical country expression" is what artist Susan Sowerby says about her bovine beauty. Make sure you get down to Howling Wolves to see what all the song and dance is about.

Jane Holland's cow is a bit wet behind the ears because "Jetty Cow got left behind during the 'Busselton Jetty Swim'. Lonely and lost, she spent a year living under the Jetty." Be sure to see what washed up at Busselton Jetty.

"Is this the end of The Divine Bovine? Meat, milk and leather vs. methane gas... Who's really killing who?" Local artist Heusso gets philosophical and a tad controversial with his piece which you can check out at Margaret River Home Hardware and Timber.

Check out the making of Len Zuks', Professor Bovinicus on her journey to become the academic of the herd. "Bovinicus represents what continually needs to be done - learning. The accumulation of knowledge both enlightens and keeps at bay, the dark ages." She will be enlightening the Augusta Business Community and visitors with her words of wisdom.

Sponsored by The West Australian, Maureen Elphick's Wow Cow will be attempting to blend in at the Naturaliste Reptile Park - although it will be hard to miss. "WOW is loud and proud. Confident and stylish in her own flamboyant way. No gentle grazing for my girl!"
